Welcome to Rooted Behavioral Education, where hope takes root and healing blossoms on your vestibular rehabilitation journey.

If you’ve landed on this page, you’re probably already familiar with the physical symptoms commonly associated with vestibular disorders, including vertigo, dizziness, fatigue, tinnitus, cognitive difficulties, motion sensitivity, visual disturbances, and nausea (to name a few). However, vestibular disorders can also have significant psychological effects, which may be lesser known but equally detrimental.

Are you experiencing any of the following manifestations along with your vestibular symptoms?

  • A heightened sense of worry, unease, or fear triggered by the unpredictable nature of your symptoms

  • Fluctuations in emotions, ranging from irritability, frustration, or sadness to moments of relief or hope

  • Increased sensitivity to external stimuli, leading to heightened irritability or difficulty managing frustration

  • Persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, or a loss of interest in activities that were once enjoyable

  • Feeling a sense of disconnection or loss of self due to the limitations imposed by your vestibular symptoms

  • Decreased confidence and a negative perception of self due to the challenges and limitations associated with your disorder

If you answered “yes” to any of the above, you are in the right place.

I am thrilled to have you here because I understand how fluctuating vestibular symptoms can disrupt many facets of your daily life. I know how frustrating it can be to feel stuck with chronic vestibular symptoms, wondering where to turn next. But let me assure you there is a way forward, and I’m living proof of that.

Who Am I?

My name is Emily Kostelnik. I’m not just a Clinical Health Psychologist, I’m also a fellow vestibular warrior. My personal journey has intertwined with my professional expertise, making me uniquely qualified to guide you toward recovery. I’ve experienced the physical and emotional toll of vestibular disorders firsthand, having been diagnosed with SCDS and BPPV in 2017. Later, I faced the relentless challenges of chronic VM and PPPD during the postpartum period. These hardships, combined with my professional experience, have shaped me into an expert who understands how to navigate vestibular disorders from both the patient and Clinical Psychologist perspectives.

Now, let’s talk about how I can help you.

Throughout my healing process, I recognized crucial behavioral health factors that are often unaddressed in medical appointments. That’s why I am passionate about providing holistic, evidence-based health education that fills in the gaps in your vestibular recovery. By incorporating my specialized training in Health psychology, I bring a comprehensive approach to your well-being.

My self-study virtual courses are carefully crafted to complement traditional medical treatments, offering you a powerful adjunct for your vestibular recovery. I pledge to be your dedicated guide, supporting and educating you every step of the way. Together, we will uncover the strategies that optimize healing, working through the setbacks and celebrating the triumphs along the way.

Need one-on-one support? I’ve got you covered! I offer individual educational meetings internationally to help you seamlessly navigate the recovery process. I can help you find doctors and therapists, discuss common issues that co-occur with chronic dizziness, and explain what the research shows on various topics for vestibular recovery. Further, I personally supervise mindset coaches who help guide you through calming your nervous system and addressing negative thought loops that are keeping you stuck.

Your recovery is my priority, and I look forward to joining forces with you. It’s time to reclaim your life. Begin your journey with Rooted today.
